How do I sign up my merchant?
Signing up the merchant is an easy, three-step process:
- Discuss credit card processing options with the customer. Integrated Mercury solutions are fast and require no additional hardware or software (no cost to the merchant!), and we will do our best to match their existing rates, or even beat them.
- Connect us with the merchant by setting up a conference call or having us call the merchant directly. We will discuss rates and take an application over the phone. You don't have to do anything more.
- Once we have a merchant ID number, we'll send it to you for the installation. It's the easiest credit card installation you'll ever do.
If this is your first Mercury Payment Systems merchant, you will need to enroll in one of Mercury Payment's sales programs, and fill out a W-9 form. |

How do I install my merchant?
- Sign up your merchant with Mercury Payment Systems and complete the easy, three-step application process.
- Have your merchant contact his/her local internet service provider, telecommunications company, or cable company to install a fast internet connection (DSL, cable, etc.) Or, your merchant can use a dial-up internet connection.
- Install the POS system as usual. Test that the internet connection is working by clicking on "connect".
- Enter the merchant number that Mercury Payment Systems has sent. Our merchant numbers will include a text identifier or "nickname" after the merchant number. This change will make it much harder for a merchant or dealer to put in an incorrect merchant number and process transactions through the wrong merchant account. The new numbers may be up to 25 characters in length. For example, a new style merchant number will look like: 88430000067=PizzaBox.
