Durango, CO —August 1, 2008 —Integrated payments processor, Mercury Payment Systems, was named a 2008 Best Company to Work for in Colorado by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Colorado State Council at an awards luncheon held yesterday in the Denver Center for Performing Arts.
One of 15 finalists competing for the top prize in the large company category (250 employees or more), Mercury placed fourth. Finalists were determined using the results of a two-part comprehensive assessment that included an employer questionnaire and an employee survey.
Factors that may have contributed to Mercury’s high employee scores include generous salaries, challenging career opportunities in a beautiful setting, a “shared knowledge” work environment, employee recognition and appreciation, and newly equipped offices.
The company is headquartered in Durango, Colorado, with a second office in Denver. Marc Katz was ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Small Business CEO of the Year in 2006.
The third annual awards program is run by Colorado SHRM and is modeled after Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.”
