Matt became president of our integrated payments business in 2014 after five years as the CEO of Mercury Payment Systems, which Vantiv acquired in June 2014. Matt joined Mercury in 2003 and held various positions, including Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, prior to becoming Mercury’s CEO. Matt was an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner in 2012, and was named by ColoradoBiz Magazine as one of the top 5 Most Influential Young Professionals.

Karsten Voermann

Karsten Voermann came to Mercury with comprehensive experience in finance, strategic consulting and business development. Prior to Mercury, he led finance and operations at ContentGuard, Inc. and CPA2Biz, Inc. At both companies, cash flow grew more than 10 times during his tenure. Karsten held financial, corporate development, and strategy-focused positions at Microsoft Inc., Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company. At Microsoft, Karsten focused on strategy formulation and execution in various technology areas. At Bain and McKinsey, he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions and IPO preparation engagements, as well as improving the technology infrastructure. Karsten holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is also a CPA.

Andrew Patterson

Andrew is a seasoned product, systems and information technology veteran with more than 16 years experience managing product, IT, and software development teams, spending more than 14 years in the payment processing industry. His most recent position at Canada’s largest acquirer, Moneris Solutions, was as Vice President of Payment Systems and Emerging Products. His mandate was to lead the emerging product and platform development functions to further strengthen and position Moneris’ products and services as leading edge, high-value, and innovative solutions for the North American market.

Previous experience includes his role as Director of Software Development at Paradata Systems in Vancouver where he was responsible for architecting, designing and developing POS Internet gateway systems. He previously held software engineering positions at the National Research Council in Ottawa and at Quest Software in Halifax. Andrew also shares a patent pertaining to the design and implementation of ecommerce systems.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Computer Science from Dalhousie University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Queens University.

Matt has responsibility over Vantiv’s Integrated Card Present and Card Not Present developers and technology reseller channel partners (Mercury, Element, and PayFac TM – Aggregation). He leads the Program and strategy, business development and channel management functions Previously he was the SVP of Sales Operations managing Vantiv’s growth across the merchant services distribution. Prior to joining Vantiv, Matt was the Co-Founder and President of Sales for Century Payments, Worldpay’s largest ISO in partnership with NCR. In this role he constructed a dedicated sales force for Radiant Systems, an agent and bank referral channel. Previous to that Matt spent 9 years with First Data as a Senior Vice President of Sales working with national, regional bank and community banks. Matt served in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer Aviation Electronics Technician with VAW-120 based out of Norfolk, VA . Matt has a B.S. in Business Management from the State University of New York. He resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife Shannon and their two sons.

John Berkley

John Berkley joined Mercury in the spring of 2012 to oversee product strategy and management. He has more than 15 years of senior-level product experience with such companies as Oracle, Responsys and Tealeaf. At Mercury, John is responsible for the strategic development, delivery to market, and adoption of innovative products. Prior to joining Mercury, John held the position of Senior Vice President, Product at Responsys, a best-in-class software and solutions provider in the online marketing industry. There he led the roadmap, design, development, and launch of the company’s award winning suite of applications, and served as product and technology spokesperson throughout their successful IPO process. John graduated cum laude from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received a Master of Business Administration degree, with distinction, from Harvard Business School.

Randy Clark

Randy Clark joined Mercury in February 2013 to lead overall dealer, developer and merchant marketing. He has more than 20 years of marketing leadership experience with top-tier venture-capital backed, private-equity owned and $1B+ public companies. Prior to Mercury, Randy was CMO of UC4 Software and Platform Computing which he helped transform into high-growth $100M businesses respectively. During his executive tenures, he has led or supported 8 acquisitions and helped broaden the investor bases. By leveraging customer-centric product, programs and corporate marketing, he will help Mercury and its partners continue their growth and industry ascent. Randy has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Brett Narlinger

SVP, Enterprise Sales


Senior Vice President, Enterprise Sales



Brett Narlinger heads Mercury’s sales organization, which focuses on creating new partnerships with point-of-sale (POS) developers and resellers, and completing the sales and boarding process for their referred merchants. He was most recently the executive vice president of sales and a founding executive of Bank of America Merchant Services, the largest merchant acquirer in the United States today. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with First Data in various leadership roles, overseeing all enterprise and national portfolio accounts. Today he oversees sales operations, large account acquisition, partner recruitment, and partner and merchant retention. His specialty is the development of new markets that allow for Mercury’s continuation of its double-digit growth. Narlinger received his bachelor of science from Colorado State University.

Ross Agre

Ross Agre became Mercury’s General Counsel in April of 2012. He has more than 19 years of law firm and in-house counsel experience leading large deal teams in complex international and domestic transactions. His specialties include finance, capital markets, M&A, commercial transactions and intellectual property. Ross began his legal career as an associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, LLP in the firm’s offices in New York, London and Washington. He then moved on to in-house legal roles, as General Counsel for Booth Creek Ski Holdings, Inc., the fourth largest owner/operator of ski resorts in North America, General Counsel of Remonov Capital, Inc., a private investment and real estate development firm, and Deputy General Counsel for West Corporation, a leading provider of technology-driven communication solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Dartmouth College, and received his Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law. For more than seven years, Ross served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of SOS Outreach, a Vail Valley based nonprofit, serving at risk youth through physical and character development.

Pattie Money

Pattie Money is senior vice president of human resources, responsible for driving Mercury’s talent, organizational effectiveness, communications and culture strategies. The HR team designs and implements programs to attract, develop, engage talent and facilitate the building of Mercury’s high performance culture.

She brings more than 15 years of human resources operations and IPO experience to Mercury. Money previously spent 13 years at Monotype Imaging Inc., as vice president of human resources, where she managed the company’s long-term growth initiatives while the company delivered significant levels of profitability and cash flow. She led Monotype through several U.S. and global acquisitions and was part of the IPO team that led the company to a successful public offering in 2007.

Money holds a master of science in human resources development from Villanova University. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society of Human Resources Management.
