Durango is situated at the southwestern foot of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 6,500 feet. Durango means “water town,” which is a reference to the Animas River that flows through it. The population is about 17,000. Surrounded by some two-million acres of San Juan National Forest land, the area is a natural playground for all who appreciate spectacular views and outdoor experiences. Mercury is among Durango’s largest employers. Our company offers challenging career opportunities in a beautiful setting. Our playground is the entire four corners area, from hot desert to mountain summits. We’re a scenic six-and-a-half-hour drive or short flight from Denver.
